  • Always bow when entering or leaving the Dojang (the place where we train).
  • When doing floor techniques, be it basics or patterns, hold your position after finishing until told to relax or move by the Instructor.
  • You MUST make your Instructor aware of any medical condition you may have that might cause you further injury or your wellbeing to deteriorate due to any of the exercises or techniques used within Taekwondo. Anything said would be held in the strictest confidence, and the instructors will work with you to make sure you do not do anything to aggravate past injuries.
  • If you have a problem or want to ask a question, then you should remain in your position, raise your hand, and wait to be asked. This includes going to the toilets or getting a drink outside of breaks – wandering off mid lesson can be dangerous and lead to accidents.
  • Always be on time unless you have a valid reason for being late. If you arrive late, wait until your Instructor invites you onto the floor rather than just joining in, for safety reasons.
  • If you have a uniform, you should wear this during sessions. If you are out of uniform, you should line up at the back unless specified by the Instructors.

  • Always be courteous and respectful to fellow members regardless of age, sex or the length of time they’ve been practicing Taekwondo.
  • Sparring is an exercise, not a free for all fight, and therefore should be done with appropriate caution. Senior grades are expected to help lower grades develop. There will be clear rules set by the instructor, and everyone is expected to follow these for safety reasons.
  • It is expected that members train barefoot, training shoes should only be worn due to medical reasons or if arranged beforehand with your Instructors.
  • If you have a problem with anyone within the class (such as excessive force while sparring), you should inform an Instructor or committee member, who will look into the matter and take any necessary action.
  • The class is taught in the style of traditional WT Taekwondo. We welcome members from other martial art backgrounds, provided you follow what is taught during the lesson.
  • All jewellery (earrings, rings, watches, piercings etc.) must be removed before the training session starts, for safety reasons.
